“Art for the Prevention of Mental Health Problems” is a pioneering project supported by the European Union’s “Creative Europe” program. Bringing together four nations, it includes Hopeart from Greece, Omphalos from Italy, Proyecto Nagual from Spain, and AYPB from Bulgaria.
The project is focusing on vulnerable young adults. Part of the design of the project is to analyse the intersectionality of vulnerability, considering how factors such as gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and other identity markers intersect and influence mental health needs. Furthermore, the project will recruit and train a diverse team of facilitators who can connect with and understand the experiences of the target population.
At least 300 young people are going to be involved in the framework of the 30 workshops that are going to be organized. After the workshops, it is expected that the risk of mental health problems will be significantly reduced for the participants.
